About Us

Mission Statement

The purpose of this web site is provide creative caregivers in dementia with an informative, innovative and fun space in which to interact with other caregivers in dementia who share an interest in creative expression.  This site also aims to provide short practical information videos or documents that present what you need, when it is needed, about particular behavioural problems (i.e., challenges and solutions).  Our long term goal is to adjust and expand content to meet new interests as the needs of our members change.  We strive to produce up-to-date content to meet the needs identified by local caregivers in dementia, with input from our local Alzheimer Society, and to showcase creativity of caregivers in dementia.

About Us
“The Online Quilt” is both a public and a private web site.

The public space provides a Public "Library" containing short, practical hands-on information DVD/videos or documents about Alzheimer's disease and other dementias.  The Public "Gallery" showcases literature, paintings, videos, photos of sculptures, quilts and other art forms made by creative caregivers in dementia (as well as those involved in the creation of this web site).

The private space provides log-in access for members to create and communicate.  The "Create" space is an innovative and fun place in which to interact and collaborate on artistic projects with other caregivers in dementia who share an interest in creative expression.  Members can also use webcams and headsets in "Let's Talk" to communicate privately (one-on-one) or simultaneously with other members in the group, in a secured area.

For more information about membership in the private space of The Online Quilt, please go to contact us.
